When the Four Jacks Marching in… Posted by rebecca , under: Omaha Hi/Lo Limit, Omaha Poker Hands
Well isn’t it just great when after the flop you know who will take the chips? My hole cards were very good for Omaha Hi hand (suited A-7 and a pair of Jacks), but nothing is good until you see the flop. Flop… my eyes are playing tricks with me?! I wasn’t sure.. so I counted like a child. One, two, three… no, one more time… one, two, three, four… four Jacks! Oh yeah!
It’s great when you have a four of a kind, but now I have two sweet problems. First, this is Omaha Hi/Lo Limit poker game, and I simply want a whole pot just for myself. Second, if I bet after the flop lots of players will go away, and that’s something I don’t want. I have nuts, dammit! So I just checked, hoping that the flop suits someone else as well. Turn card brings good news – there won’t be a low hand this time. Couple of players followed my bet.
After a river only one player followed me. Good, the pot is bigger now. Coooool!
Now I have a new problem. I am trying to figure out why on earth he called any of my bets without a single pair! Weird! Perhaps he thought he can win Omaha hand with Ace high? Come on…
