The Curse of the Newbie Posted by kamassy , under: Omaha Hi/Lo Pot Limit, Omaha Poker Hands
Here is a reminder that you can earn real money easily in Omaha Poker if a hot shot newbie is at the table. You can recognize them easily by the way they play. For example, in this Omaha Hi/Lo Pot Limit poker hand, one of the players kept pot raising even though his odds were decreasing with every second. As you can see, after the flop, he had slim 2 pairs - close to nothing in Omaha Poker, but he raised a whole pot. The guy that called had three of a kind at that point, but was probably sick of the newbie, so he called. You should notice that he didn’t re-raise, since he knows how Omaha Poker should be played - nice and easy - if you don’t have at least a straight. After the turn card, newbie should just check, since his chances of winning this hand decreased even further, but noooo, he raised a whole pot again. My annoyed fellow had quads after the turn card and probably started laughing, and forced the all in.
As you can see, I lost this one, since I went for a low hand. But, even though I lost money, I was very happy to see this guy leaving a table.
