An All-in Worth Hand - Finally! Posted by kamassy , under: Omaha Hi Pot Limit, Omaha Poker Hands
I love to safe-play Pot Limit Omaha pre-flop since you really can’t judge your hand by your hole cards only. It’s something you’ll be able to feel when your Omaha Poker experience raises to some respectable level. There is a question of course - is there a hand you should go till all-in before the flop? Well, this is one of them by my opinion. Specially since I was getting poor cards before and also, how the time passed, I classified the players on the table by their skill and willingness to bet.
I had waited for quite a while till this hand at this Omaha Hi Pot Limit poker table. My hole cards were Qd-Jd-Jh-10h. So I had double suited hand with connecting cards in both cases, plus a pocket pair of jacks. A lot to hope for - straight flush, quads, flush, straight etc. Also, the only guy involved in the hand was a frenetic raiser, so we easily went from his initial pot-raise to my all in.
Take a look at his hand - pocket Kings and the weakest possible connecting straight potential. Also a rainbow cards! OMG! With his cards, I wouldn’t see the flop. As you can see, I hit the flush, but odds were on my side no matter what. Maybe he figured that he isn’t playing Texas Hold’em but the Omaha Poker - Pocket pair without a support is nothing.
