Bad Play Killed my Quads Posted by kamassy , under: Omaha Hi Pot Limit, Omaha Poker Hands

This Omaha Hi Pot Limit poker hand is the perfect example of bad play. Even more frustrating fact is it was my play involved. I just took my place at this poker table and rushed in with paying a big blind instantly. Nobody had raised and I was in the game for that small fee - and I hit Quads on the flop. Everybody checked and I had a dilemma - should I check or should I raise. I decided to check, which is a counter bluff with hopes that someone has a pocket pair or two nines. Since everybody is cautious when new player joins the table, there were no raises before till the river - and everybody checked again! I decided to pot-raise then, but it was too late. Nobody called and I scooped the tinniest ever pot I had won with quads in my hands.

My personal opinion is that I should at least bet 2-3 blinds every time. Maybe someone would pay that.
