Just Keep Raising on those Community Cards Posted by rebecca , under: Omaha Hi/Lo Limit, Omaha Poker Hands
Since this was Omaha Hi/Lo Limit poker game I was pretty pleased with my hole cards (Ad-3d-5d-9s). After seeing a flop I just knew I had a big chance to win low, so I kept betting. Turn card brought a smile on my face because I had the best possible low hand! Well, by constantly re-raising my bets it was quite obvious that my opponent had something too. I just couldn’t figure out why he is raising so much, probably going for the low hand like me. River card was more than I hoped for. It was for sure now that I will win high with a flush, Ace high, but, I will most probably split the pot for the low hand with my opponent. I was pretty sure since he raised my bets all the time.
The moment of truth… What the… My opponent just thought that his cards were very good. This is funny. All those chips for two pair, Eights over Sevens? I don’t even want to go in his low hand card. Come on… Chance that he’ll win high hand with community cards like these were very slim. However, there was quite a potential for flush and straight. But, there were much better combinations for low hand which could beat him.
Well, maybe his instinct pushed him to raise so much. If that was the case… it was a bad one! On the other hand, if this is his way of bluffing, he should reconsider his ways.
