Be Aware when You See a Pair on the Table Posted by rebecca , under: Omaha Hi Pot Limit, Omaha Poker Hands
My biggest fear in Omaha is when I have a straight or a flush and there is a pair in community cards. That’s because somebody could have a full house, which is a very common situation, and it’s better then straight and flush, of course. Possibilities for that are very big because it’s Omaha we’re taking about.
This Omaha Hi Pot Limit poker hand is example of that. Me and the player on my left both had a straight, Ace high, and we lost this hand. That happened because river brought another King and all together a full house, Kings full of Sevens for our other opponent. Well, that’s Omaha! Be aware when you don’t have a full house or better when there is a pair in community cards. Luckily, I was aware of this possibility, so I only called other players’ bets.
