Which Two Cards Will Bring Victory? Posted by rebecca , under: Omaha Hi/Lo Limit, Omaha Poker Hands
To be honest I played this Omaha Hi/Lo Limit poker hand because of my pocket Aces. Yes I know that I always criticize players who think they will be winners just by holding a pair of Aces. Well, in this case it wasn’t just Aces - I also had a 6-7 which gave me a chance for a straight, plus A-6 were suited.
Flop cards were Kc-5c-8h and I had a pretty good chance for a straight. Everybody checked and I saw a turn card for free. Deuce heart opened one more chance for me. Flush will be better than a straight but I still need that one more card. Any heart, nine or four will be fine.
It was very clear that one player was going for a low hand, because after the turn card he raised. I was convinced in that but in the same time I had no idea what the other player is waiting for. Nine on the river. Great. I had a straight and with these community cards it was the best possible high hand. I won high pot, one player won low pot with A-2-3-5-8 and third player lost everything with two pair, Kings and Twos.
At the end my pocket aces didn’t bring me a win - it was a straight.
