Straight Flush on the River Posted by kamassy , under: Omaha Hi Pot Limit, Omaha Poker Hands
Here is one Omaha Hi Pot Limit Poker hand that amazed me. Not just because I won the pot! My hole cards were playable (I love them) - double suited connectors, mid pair and a 8-9-10, perfect for the straight. In short my cards were Tc-9c-8s-9s.
Flop brought me a straight draw, Js-Qs-7c, but not a safe one. Sure, I could use a King, but the same card would kill me if someone is holding a A-T. I was pretty aggresive at betting, but I just couldn’t shake off other two players.
Turn card was a Six of Diamonds, which expended number of my outs - now the Five would be perfect. Then, out of nowhere, on the river, there was a Ten of Spades. At first, I figured that’s exactly what I am waiting for to complete a Straight, but somebody could have a stronger flush. Second later, I was hoping somebody has it, since I had a Straight Flush, Queen high. Only possible better hand would be A-K in Spades, which would complete a Royal Flush, but - I guessed neither of two players is that lucky. I mean - what are the odds?
Fortune was on my side again, since one of the players had a Flush, Ace high and he was convinced he’s holding a strongest hand. Bad Beat for him. The other guy had “just” a straight, Ace high. Absolutely not enough.
What can I say, I hit Royal Flush couple of times in Omaha Poker, but this one was much, much sweeter.
