Slow Play in Omaha Poker Posted by kamassy , under: Omaha Hi Pot Limit, Omaha Poker Hands
Everybody say you should play Omaha Poker as aggressive as you can. With every free card you allow to your opponents you give them more chances to beat you. Well, take a look at one exception.
My hole cards involved a pair of Kings, a Seven and an Eight - double suited. Since this was Omaha Hi Pot Limit Poker session I pot raised pre-flop. Flop was a true gift - I hit Quads. In case I continued with raising on the flop, my only opponent would fold instantly, since he would knew I hit the flop. Since he hit a boat and action was on his side, he raised a pot, and I just called. To be honest, I hoped for a pair of Nines in his hand.
Same thing happened after the turn. He was betting and I was calling until the river when I re-raised for the first time. He was reluctant to call, but he eventually did.
To be honest, this was the first time I was pleased with the pot size when I was holding Quads.
