Luck and a Kicker, Nothing More Posted by kamassy , under: Omaha Hi Pot Limit, Omaha Poker Hands
I love berserk hands, specially when I win. There is absolutely nothing you can learn here except the fact that luck has some influence in your Omaha Hi Pot Limit Poker game. As you can see from my hole cards, I had a hand at the flop - King high flush draw, and a straight draw as well. Of course I pot raised to scare off potential drawers here, but I got two consecutive re-raises from my opponents.
I had two options on the flop - to fold or to go all in. I decided to go all in, since I thought one of the players has a flush draw (hopefully weaker then mine) and the other one is defending a set. What a mistake. They both called my all in and checked to the river. It turned out both players had a flush draw and one of them with an ace. I said goodbye to money, but good fortune was on my side.
I won the pot with two pair, Aces over Deuces, with a stronger kicker! What a luck. I didn’t have any choices but to admit it was pure luck, berserk play that payed off. So I quickly left the table with the money in my pockets. Anything else would be a disaster with two players waiting to destroy me. I think I spent all my luck for this day.
