I just took a seat at this Omaha Hi Pot Limit poker table. My hole cards were double suited (Ah-7h-2c-4c). With these cards I could go for a flush or for a straight, so I called. Since everybody folded this hand chip leader wanted to scare me off with his pot-raise. Well, I was a newbie at the table, but I don’t get scared that easily. LOL. So many times I was witnessing chip leader’s bad bluffs. Not that I was sure about his bluffing, but there was a chance. As much as he wanted to scare me, I wanted to see the flop.
Hm, there was a rainbow on the flop, but I had two pair, Aces and Fours. Of course I need to pay another chip leader’s bet if I want to see another card. Another Four brought me a Full House, Fours full of Aces. And again he wanted more money. Since I had a Full House, it will be my pleasure to call his bet. BTW, it was my all in.
Unbelievable, he was raising all the time. I mean, he had great hole cards, but after the flop he only had a pair of Aces. After the turn card he had two pair, Aces and Fours. Come on dude, I had a two pair after the flop too. And all that chips you are giving on two pair in Omaha? That’s crazy! Anyway, thanks. I doubled up my chips in one hand because you are such a bad bluffer.

Maybe I’m a Newbie but You don’t Own this Table

Got a real roller-coaster ride in this Omaha Hi Pot Limit Poker hand. You can see my hole cards, loved the 9-10, loved the hearts, but in overall, this is just a throw-me-away hand for my playing style. But, since I was a big blind, I saw the flop for a small raise.
Flop was between my hopes and fears. Two pair, Tens over Fours is consider nothing in Omaha Poker. Only good thing at that moment was a rainbow flop. I was first on the move and just checked, but my only opponent raised a full pot. Originally I thought he has a pocket pair, maybe a set, but nothing more. So I called his bet. Turn card convinced me to see the river, since I now had the same two pair, but with a flush draw as well. I called his pot raise again, fearing the worst. Then the river exploded in my face, leaving me with what I had at the very beginning - darn two pair.
I now have a two pair and two fears - straight anywhere around 4-5-6 and any three of a kind. I decided to fold, but on my surprise, the guy just checked giving me a free river card! Cards were shown and I scooped the pot! OMG.
What was he thinking? If you force pot-raise till the river, you need to nail it afterwards! That way or no way. Sure, he had nothing, but I didn’t know that. With all the raising, I would fold! I even checked the “check/fold” button. So, my best advice and a moral of the story is - if you are raising heavy and it turns bad, kiss your chips and push it till the end.

This was just a beginning of Omaha Hi Limit poker game so I decided to call this hand (Kd-10s-8h-6c). The flop wasn’t bad at all. I had two pairs - Kings and Eights - and off course I raised a whole pot. Only one player called. Next card was a Jack. My opponent was telling me that he had a straight by raising a pot. I wasn’t sure about that. It’s a lot of chips. If I call this and lose - I am finished! I don’t know. But… something was pushing me to click the call button.
Pair of aces? Come on! This is Omaha! You don’t give all your money on one pair! What is the chance that you’ll see the Ace on a river? Well, this time you can just dream about it.
However, thanks buddy!
